A temporary full time position commencing as soon as possible until 20 December 2027.
Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong promotes an inclusive model of education with the goal to cater for student diverse learning needs within the least restrictive environment and by providing a continuum of support options.
The purpose of this role is to assist school communities to build their capability, especially that of teachers and other staff, to cater for the diverse learning and wellbeing needs of students.
The Teacher of Diverse Learning works collaboratively with staff, students and families to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can access and engage with the curriculum.
Essential Criteria:
- a deep personal commitment to the practice of their faith and their own spiritual formation.
- a willingness to contribute to the life and culture of the school.
- demonstrated experience as an effective and inclusive classroom practitioner.
- a deep knowledge of the curriculum and its focus on inclusive practice.
- an understanding of, and demonstrated ability to:

- identify and support a range of adjustments that effectively support students with a diverse range of needs within a mainstream learning environment.
- collaboratively develop differentiated learning programs.
- support the facilitation of interventions that reflect best practice.
- assess, monitor and review adjustments in order to make professional judgments regarding their effectiveness
- work collaboratively with staff, parents/carers and external professionals
- maintain student records and NCCD documentation aligned with system expectations.
- a deep understanding of the Disability Standards for Education (2005) aligned to the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data.
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
- System policies and procedures including Lighting the Way Strategic Plan, Faith, Learning and Wellbeing Framework, Diverse Learning Needs Policy, Pastoral Care and Wellbeing and Case Collaboration Procedure (www.dow.catholic.edu.au under policies)
- a knowledge of NCCD requirements and the CSNSW Personalised Planning Tool.
- Qualifications and or studies in Inclusive Education, or the willingness to undertake relevant study.

- Strong organisational skills.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
